A brand-new Peace Portal will officially be launched on 26 January with an event at the Museum for Communication in The Hague. The mission of the Portal is to be a main source and opportunity to share and integrate information leading to action aimed at preventing conflict and building peace.

Rent a garden plot at the municipality
The Municipality of The Hague is again making its municipal garden plots available to residents. Residents of The Hague who would like to plant their own flowers, fruits and vegetables can register to rent a municipal garden plot. The gardening season is from 15 March to 1 November 2012.

New Afvalpas in effect
All households in The Hague received a new Afvalpas in November 2011. The pass provides access to the three garbage and recycling stations in the city (Binckhorst, Zichtenburg and Scheveningen). Residents will not have access to the stations without a valid new pass.
‘Smarter waste collection can save money’
The Municipality of The Hague will put thousands of recycling containers in place to encourage residents to separate their garbage. This is good for the environment and saves money. The municipality’s plans for household waste are outlined in the Huishoudelijk Afvalplan 2012-2015, drawn up by the Municipal Executive.

A driving licence is valid for up to 10 years. After it expires, you don’t need to take the test again. Instead, you simply renew your driving licence. We also call this extending your licence.
